About Me
My name is Sarita Gonsalves working as a freelance marketing consultant.
I am the assistant head of Family Cell in St Joseph church (Mira-road) and the joint co-ordinator of St. Andrews community.
A very close family friend of my mine, Anita Dsouza’s son Austin Dsouza (17) is suffering from brain swelling disease. Over the years, I have known Austin Dsouza (17) to be one of the kindest and happiest kids around. He was very happy with the way his life was turning out, given that he was appearing for his HSC exams and gearing up to pursue his career goals. However, things took a turn when he was diagnosed with brain swelling disease in the last week of Feb.
The Cause
Austin D'Souza (17) residing at B-102/ Sheetal Nagar Mira road (East), student of St Francis College Borivali, ex-Altar Server and currently in the Pastoral Helpers team of St Joseph Parish, is undergoing a brain surgery at Karuna Hospital, Borivali West.
He was suffering severe headaches from 10-Feb’18 and was admitted to Karuna hospital Borivali as the pain was unbearable. Austin went through a CT Scan and the reports revealed Bilateral Frontal Sinus Collection (BFSC) and left epidural frontal and perieto occipital with mass effect and shift of midline structure. In short, he has a swelling, puss, and infection in his brains due to sinus. There is a team of brilliant doctors from Karuna hospital that is working day and night to get Austin medically fit.
Funds and Appeal
As this is a complex medical issue, the treatment fees are very high. We need your support to raise money for his treatment and rehabilitation. Every penny and every prayer received will make a difference in Austin's life.
Austin is admitted in Karuna hospital for the treatment. I along with his family and friends, want to do everything humanly possible to give him a fighting chance. I am sure he would have done the same if roles were reversed.
Help us raise money via this campaign so that we can help Austin Dsouza get another chance at life.
